Dr. Carlyn Figueiredo is originally from Scarborough, Ontario. He completed his undergraduate degree in Cell Biology at the University of Toronto, followed by a Master of Science in Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, where he developed a special interest in neurodegenerative diseases. He went on to complete both his medical degree and Family Medicine residency at the University of Toronto, serving communities in Scarborough and Bowmanville. After residency, Dr. Figueiredo pursued a fellowship in Palliative Care at the University of Toronto.

In addition to his family practice, he is a staff palliative care physician at Lakeridge Health, providing care to both inpatient and community-based patients.

Dr. Figueiredo is dedicated to serving the people of Durham Region with compassionate, patient-centred care. His work focuses on enhancing quality of life for individuals and families facing serious illness, using a holistic approach that integrates medical expertise with psychosocial and spiritual support across all care settings.
