Originally from Sudan, Dr. Sakran graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Yemen. He completed his postgraduate training and MD certification in paediatrics at Khartoum University, Sudan. His postgraduate work includes working as an assistant professor at the Academy for Medical Science and Technology in Khartoum and as a specialist at the Paediatric Emergency Centre in Qatar.
In 2011 Dr. Sakran moved to the Hospital for Sick Children to complete his fellowship training in paediatric emergency and hospitalist medicine. In 2014 he joined Lakeridge Health and was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Queen’s University. Currently, he is the paediatric postgraduate lead at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for Queen’s University. He has a love for teaching and has received several awards.
As part of the Ontario Paediatric Medicine Hospital Research Network, Dr. Sakran has published several papers and will participate in the Paediatric Inpatient Research Network (PIRN). He plans to continue participating in research work, especially multicentre trials.
In Bowmanville Health Centre, Dr. Kukreti’s and Dr. Sakran’s office is a general paediatric clinic. They will not be treating mental and developmental disorders.
